The Mind and Body Work as One
People have always understood that intuitively the mind and body are one. In this understanding of body-mind connection, it is shown that one can affect the other in many ways. If we believe and acknowledge this connection, then it can bring us amazing insights into how we can heal ourselves inside and out. This quest for truth can then promote transformation, bringing you back to wholeness.
Have you ever experienced back pain, extreme tiredness or other physical complexities? What do you think your body is trying to tell you in these circumstances? By stopping to acknowledge and accept these problems, you are taking the first step to nourishing and healing your entire being.
LISTENING TO THE WISDOM OF YOUR BODY
Your body is constantly giving you messages about what is and isn’t working in your life. When life is off track it will let you know. Your body reveals what is happening in our external world, in our relationships, our jobs and how we live our lives. Your body will whisper to you through minor ailments. If you don’t pay attention it will get louder and the symptoms may become more chronic.
Paying attention and having awareness to the messages from within your body can literally save your life. However, for the body to give you a signal you must get out of your head and your thoughts and start paying attention to your feelings and your physical body. By bringing awareness to your symptoms in the body you can be guided to heal.
MAKING YOUR HEALTH A PRIORITY
So how can you ensure that you don’t ignore your body’s signals? Your physical body is your temple so learn from its wisdom and you will heal more rapidly and avoid chronic problems and disease.
Pay attention to the messages within your body and be aware of your own energy. What is it trying to say to me? Your body is a feedback system. Ask questions and go within, then see what’s happening in the body.
Unless we are connecting to the body regularly, we can’t change or begin to heal. True healing means listening to the messages your body is trying to give you, then making changes that create ease rather than dis-ease and flow rather than stuckness in your body and your life.
IDENTIFYING THE ISSUES
Do you rely on your body to say no for you when you can’t? How has this manifested itself in your life? Look at the occasions or situations that this has happened. Can you see a pattern? For example, what are reactions within your body telling you when:
- interacting with a certain person
- comparing yourself to others
- your house isn’t as tidy as you would like
- confronted with stressful situations
- relationships with others are strained
Reactions, ailments or even pain triggered from these situations are telling you that it’s time to change something in your life! Perhaps it’s time to say ‘no’.
By tuning into your body regularly you will be able to more easily identify when you need to rest, socialise, work and need to have more fun.
